A traditional idea that is met with a modern reimagining. A public marketplace has too long been stereotyped as the stomping grounds of old people and their arts and crafts. Unlike other marketplaces, Union Mill Market transforms into a hotspot for young people after dark on the weekends; it can be a concert venue, or social club at night, but still have the familiar, old fashioned feel of a public market during the day. The combination of styles is reflected in the design of the brand.

THE BRAND
Inspired by the rich history of the Union Mills neighborhood in Baltimore, the logo and overall stylization of the Union Mills Market brand successfully combines a victorian era look with a modern twist. Union Mill was a manufacturer of canvas fiber back in the 1800s and is used today as a housing project for young teachers and students in the Baltimore area, so, a brand that can appeal to the younger generation in a way that still preserves the history of the area from which it came proved to be vital in its success.
