Hi! I'm Jesse Smith, a graphic illustrator, trained in both illustration and design. I enjoy illustration of both traditional and graphical natures. As you will see I take advantage of the computer as often as I employ traditional techniques. It's just another kind of brush.

In this portfolio you will find a few different categories; how I apply graphic design and illustration together, pure illustration, figure and sketches, and then pure design.

The first set below falls into the category of graphic illustrations, a marriage of illustration and design.

This flower is a computer rough!

The following section is mostly illustration and figure. Many are traditional, others are computer generated. These are the types of project I enjoy the most.
The following section is devoted to sketches, figure and protrait. Some folks like to see base drawing skills, so here they are.
This also is a rough draft, but for a not yet finished vector illustration.

And this last set is purely design work and calligraphy. Some images use illustrations from another artist or photographer in collaboration, such as the Bal Ingènieux and Eadweard Muybridge illustrations and photographs.  The postage stamps and the Sigmund Freud book cover use treatment of stock photos for their effect. All other effects and illustrations belong to me.
