The Portuguese Handbook For Urban Subculture
This is a personal project, where i look forward to give a comic vision about the persons that we see on daily basis, focusing on a true fact, The people are the particles that togheter became the culture flux.
keep in mind that this is just a proposal for what of one piece like this could look.
Handbook summary:
This guide aims to show a diferent vision from the one that convencional turistic guides give to us. I believe that the hearth of a place is represented not only by is architectonical patrimony but by the people that build, maintain and keep it growing. Get to know the people, understand their motivations, their background and their habits is extremely important to really know a place and his costums. Going beyound from the clichés that are allways atributed to each Country / City and understand how the people subdivide herself in diferent groups is the first step to really get to know a city or place.
Execution
In order to get a appealing result, i've decided to illustrate the characters almost as a cartoon, so, people can understand wich are the main attributes of every one of them easily. The text try to explain the backgroun of each character, show where you can commonly find her, and what are the aspects to keep in mind.I decdided to work with vector in order to discard what's not so important (synthesize), but then there's a texture working to gave them more personality.
