Briefing
The open briefing requested for the designing a system for exhibiting traditional instruments from the Alentejo.
The system had to be dismantable and transportable.

Concept
Partly abandoning the given script for the exhibition our solution focuses on the interactivity between the public and the exhibition by shifting the attention on the sonority of each musical instrument rather than the instrument itself.
Thus we opted to separate each musical instrument by inserting it into a “giant headphone set” that would enable visitors to listen to each musical instrument individually whilst viewing the instrument as well as any related digital documents on a touch screen.
The shape of each “sound exhibitor” was designed to form an acoustic "cloud" with limited interference between  exhibitors without any need for the visitors to enter ay enclousure.
We suggested that public squares would provide the ideal settings for the exhibition and that the random placing of the “sound exhibiters” would emphasize the sculptural qualities of their forms.
