HOW WE MAKE OUR MAGAZINE
For the second birthday of ITMO University's magazine "NewTone" I illustrated the entire work process. As you can see it's very complicated. Anything that can go wrong goes wrong. But in the end everything is fine and everybody's happy.
There are comments for every part of the process, for those of you who don't speak russian.
It all starts with a discussion of previous issue. We criticize everything mercilessly.
And then it's time to choose a new theme.
After we come up with some ideas for articles, editor remind us that we won't be writting about kittens this time... and any other time. Then she gives us directions and now we are full of energy and ready to work.
Our brave correspondents are now desperatly trying to find anybody, who will give them an interview. Somehow, they succeed. Three days before deadline editor recieves at least couple of articles and starts to celebrate. As deadline comes graphic designer wakes up and stars to work. Well, kinda...
Editor finally reads recieved articles. Suddenly layout designer appears.
Journalists start to avoid accidential collisions with the editor. Meanwhile corrector comes into play.
The layout designer smokes. Something unexpected happens. Editor discusses the results of the test print.
Luckily professionals from the printing office know how to make job done.
Finally we can distribute our fresh issue among students.
