After I studied the various products of Serralunga (Living Different), I decided to make a vase for them.
Using their originality for their sizes, I started the vase’s design basing my concept on the land and all the plants feeding from the land.

Something I really liked in Serralunga’ s company (Living Different) is the size of the objects produced: everything about the vases is big.
For instance, you can have the normal size of a vase but you can also have a big size.
Also we can combine different functions in one object, such as the illumination or the entire object can become a sculpture.
As I have already mentioned, my starting point is the land and of that feeds from it.
Questions: What is a vase? What is its function?
A vase is a container and it can be simple (just the container) or heavy (add decorations).
Both are able to contain a plant or fruit.
My first thought was: what if I inversed the function of a o normal vase?
So the land feeds the plants and I want that nutriments from the plant come back to feed the land.
After that my concept developed through the creation of a stimulus through a lateral dislocation. For example, a dislocation of the plant below the vase and consequently allowing for a swap in the role of the vase and the plant.
As a result the flowers are hidden and the roots are visible and uncovered.
The materials used are the same as of the company.

Garden vase with LED lighting is made with polished aluminium and low-density linear polyethylene obtained from rotational print.
The object is the result of a new concept of a garden vase following the process expressed
in the book Lateral Think.
The form expresses:

This project can be considered as a new way of experimenting with the arrangement of a house’s garden. For example, instead of showing flowers and plants ect..., the vase showcases the hidden parts of the vegetation, such as the roots.
The object is able to hold an orchid (they have white long roots).
