I'd best describe Jade's outfit as a variation on the ying-yang. The blue robe and belt are symbolic of her innocence as a priestess and princess. The pauldron, gauntlet and various other armor pieces are more symbolic of the fact that she is a powerful sorcerous and a warrior.
