At Blue Fish we take eevry client's project very seriously - especially when that client happens to be Marcus' best friend and sometimes business partner, Matt. Matt runs a consultancy that teaches Design Thinking to the masses. Matt works with everyone from well-funded startups to mom and pop gardening companies and teaches them to solve problems in a new way.
Matt, in association with the United Methodist Church, is going to be using a brand new space to perform these workshops and would like to call it "DesignLab." Huntsville is well known for their role in aerospace, genetics and general scientific tomfoolery, so the Lab part of the name was going to be a contextual shoutout to the local culture. We worked with matt to come up with some fun and inspiring visuals to be put to work in his new creative space.
DesignLab is located in Huntsville, Alabama, which is known as Rocket City. I had to make a rocket ship.
This pocket protector concept was a total throwaway at first.
Originally from a concept using a graphic representation of the atomic make up of jet fuel. It mostly looked like a color wheel so we workshopped it. The custom type treatment came early but was eventually jettisoned for being too much design and not enough lab.
Moving forward we settled on Gotham.
