COLLAGING, LAYERING & EFFECTS
Lisa Wood
Lisa Wood is a photographer as she works a lot with nature, she's done a lot of project where she has added colourful, pixilating effects onto her images and she calls it 'form or function' and she looks at what makes a photograph and look at the shift on nature and how its transforming now due to generativeAI. I really like the images and they're really creative as she's taken a simple landscape images and added the effects on top uplifting the photo and creating a different way of looking at the image and giving it a new purpose and meaning which I think is very creative and interesting.
I really like these as it's actually hard to see what the photograph is of but if you look past the effects and deeper into the image it's visible and different.
She also did a project on conscious consumption and she took photographs on this instillation in her capital city and look at how it changed over a few weeks which `I thought was very fitting within my project of transformation. In this images you can see how the colour of the sky is changing, Lisa calls this 'SHIFT' as we can see a shift in each image and how it's changing.

Some physical collages I created:
I printed out some of my photographs for a few of my shoots and decided to experiment with physical collaging.

I used the first one to present lots of the flowers that I have seen in Mill Green over the last few walks and showing how things have blossomed and started to flower.

The second one, I used 2 images of the same place a position to seesaw it looks different and how it's changed. In the corner then weather is very different and shows a sunset and all the plants/tress haven't blossomed and more of a silhouette. In the larger image there's alot more greenery and the water levels are lower showing that it hasn't rained.
Digital Collages
I then decided to of some digital collaging using photoshop.
I really like this outcome as it's minimalistic but effective as it shows the drastic changes between each photograph. In the left one it's very misty and foggy and the water levels are clearly higher due to the rain. The greenery also looks quite dead still and hasn't started to grow yet.

Differently, in the right image there is a clearly more greenery and the plants have frown a lot more. The sky is also a lot bluer which is making the water reflective and appear alot more blue which is interesting.
The first one was more of an experiment and I wanted to show that I have photographed unclose, shallow depth of field images of flowers as well as more landscape images.

I really like the second one, as I took a picture of a blossom tree and over the past few weeks the blossom has gone and been replaced with green leaves. I like how you a see both images due to the transparency setting and layering - I think it's really effective.
I'm not sure about the first one and think it appears quite dull which I don't like.

The second one is really effective and I like the outline of the flowers that I created through photoshop as it fills the empty green space - it shows all the flowers that have developed over the past few weeks. I also like how I've created the flower the subject and that's what you're drawn to. I added a gradient bitmap to more the flower and separately to the leaves.
