As part of our architecture thesis project development, we undertook an exciting challenge: to rethink and redesign the interface of the El Djamila marina and fishing port.We envisioned an ambitious and innovative program with the aim of transforming this location into a dynamic and welcoming space, meeting the aspirations and needs of the local community. This program involves replacing a parking area, which previously occupied over 80% of the surface, with a public space. It includes playgrounds, a workout area, a food court, a beach library, and water features. Furthermore, we took advantage of the rugged terrain by designing landscaped terraces that provide panoramic views of the marina.
Moreover, the project includes the development of a maritime terminal and a nautical club to enhance the value of the two beaches on the site, especially the artificial beach. The goal is to revitalize the coastline and create recreational and functional spaces that will delight both residents and tourists, thus enhancing the appeal of the coastal region.
