The image above is the first assignment for my Introduction to Graphic Design class. The choices I made for this assignment needed to fit the parameters of the rubric while also applying design principles learned that week. I choose to give the event title a different font and typography than the rest of the invitation to grab the viewers’ attention. The typography used throughout the rest of the invitation creates repetition and contrast to the title of the event. The principles of proximity and alignment guide the reader to each piece of information of the event. I also choose to keep the background and font colors airy and light to give a calm feeling to the invitation.
