I reimagined the 2024 Coachella poster. Coachella is one of the festivals I want to attend, and after being deeply impressed by last year's Blackpink performance, I decided to create a Coachella poster.
I drew inspiration from the original design's purple color scheme and layout. However, I wanted to make the font and overall color scheme a bit fancier, so I made some changes. I used the Kelsi 1 fill font with a 3D effect for the title "Coachella" to make it pop and give it a more festival-like feel. When I think of Coachella, I think of hot nights, so I added a gradient of purple and pink to a black background. Additionally, I used two colors for the font: hot pink for emphasis and white to contrast with the dark background and improve readability. For the body text, I used the All Round Gothic font to give a modern and clean feel. I also added a QR code, which wasn't in the original poster, to provide accessibility to information. To make the background resemble the night sky with stars, I hand-drew vector elements using the brush tool.
While the original layout alternated between left and right alignment, I unified it with center alignment in my poster to make it look neater. I mostly kept the layout where the alignment of artists' names descends narrower as it goes down.
It was a bit challenging to design everything from scratch without using other vector elements or images. However, it was meaningful to try out 3D effects for the first time and spend time contemplating layout, colors, and fonts.
