Bernard here is a delightful bat character I created for a comic/children's book project I'm working on. Sketched on paper and inked/colored/refined in Adobe Photoshop, he's based on an illustration I did for a Halloween-themed garden flag (included as the last image in the carousel). I took the original design and re-worked it so it'd be more "cartoony" and easy to draw consistently. I also spruced up the design by changing the color-scheme slightly as well as using a splatter brush to break up the solid colors and add texture for the "fur" as well as add some visual intrigue. The purple squiggles are something that happened in the original design and I've kind of kept as a illustrative trademark of sorts.
