This project was aimed at designing a shovel that can dig deep narrow holes to place posts for fences etc. It has two positions, one to dig straight and deep, the other to scoop up dirt from the bottom of the hole and bring it straight up and outside the hole with the help of an assisting handle for pulling it up.

The shovel in both normal and scooped-up position. The lifting handle could be adjusted at a suitable height.
