SEAR-STOP BBQ Event Poster And Socials
For the final exercise assignment, we were tasked and challenged to come up with an event, make a poster for it, and then create three social media post designs to promote the event. After some thought, I chose to come up with a BBQ event. Our first step was to look up ideas on Pinterest. Then we needed to brainstorm words and create sketch drafts for the poster and socials. For the main poster, I chose to design a Grill with the letters “BBQ” that were on fire, in between the lid and bottom of the grill. I then added nice scenery around the grill to give it the outdoor cookout vibe. Using brainstormed words, I named the title of the event the “Sear-Stop BBQ”. When it came to the social media designs, I needed to create something simple that was directly related and would promote the main purpose of the event. For my first social media design, I chose to design a butcher knife made of raw steak, with the event details as fat marks. For my second design, I drew small pitch forks intersecting each other with hot dogs on each end with fire in between. The final design consisted of a spatula engulfed in flames. Each social media design had the basic event details incorporated with the style of the design. My biggest challenge for this project was trying to correctly use the class lessons such as alignment, repetition, contrast, and font use while trying to design my idea at the same time. Overall, I am happy with the results.
