Khiladi App iGaming Re-Designing

When I got the brief to re-design the whole App/ browser for one of iGaming App.
As around 1800 players play with more then 5000 session of games was played on Khiladi App on a daily basis

It is really Important to provide a good user experience for the player by making it more user centric and more user friendly.

Goals for the redesign
- To design through user empathy
- To design a more user-friendly and intuitive user interface
- To provide a user-centric product by knowing their needs and pain points
- To make the players journey easier and simple so the layman can understand it.

My goals for my own personal development
- Learn how to conduct and analyze user research, create flow charts and wireframes, design through Figma, and prototype.
- Develop an understanding between the client and understand the iGaming market by doing their competitor research and understand

Understanding the Khiladi App
As this is an online Gaming App, so the platform want to provide a place where you can play and earn online with-in a lightning speed.

It is a platform which offers the biggest bonus points in their sector for the new players and they can play more then 10,000 live online games, and win.

It provides the following games.

Live Sports
Live Casino
Slots
Card Games

200 to 300 are new users & around 2000 active users
which played for more then 5,00,000 to 6,00,000 worth in a daily basis.

My user research and data
Before I began my redesign project, I conducted a user interview with 20 people to get a better understanding of whom I was designing for and to understand their pain points:

- Why do you usually use Khiladi App for?
- What do you expect from the online gaming platform?
- What is the problem they face while Sign up Sign in, deposit, game play & Withdrawal?

I conducted these interviews either in person or via a phone

These were the major issues that I found during the research and discuss with Audit team.
Experience 1 — Sign up & Login Problems

Aside from the repetitive functions within the app, this is the major problem that I noticed. While conducting usability testing and discussing with Audit team.
Problems:

- The user flow seems lengthy, requiring username, mobile number, OTP verification, and password creation.
- In “Sign-up” form, user is required to provide username, however there is no direction provided to enter the correct format of the username.
- No password guidance is given, which could cause user issues when entering their
password (e.g., length or complexity requirements).
- Returning users can’t save login credentials on the platform, so they must enter them manually each visit.

As we are habitual, When we want to open new account we often search for proper guidance in that process to understand the proper steps.

It didn’t follow one of the Heuristics Evaluation or any UI/UX laws to make the sign up/ sign in journeys easier.

For the solution, I chose to show a sign in and log in page clearly simple with a proper guidance:
- It’s self-explanatory
- If the user doesn’t have registered before he can by using the sign-in CTA
- If the user already has a User Id and password he can directly log in
- Added indiction to the field for errors and good to go
- It would be a lot easier to recover the User Id or password
- Also added a banner on top, where user can see the sing up promotion offers
- Also Added WhatsApp ID Creation feature, where the support team will make
  their User - ID on their behalf if it is needed
Experience 2— Deposit Page Journey & Design
The deposit journey was okay in term of UX, the major think is the UI can have more positive feel with deposit status shown.
Problems:
- 2 mins deposit wait time, instead the deposit should reflect instantly, as this is
  the fastest iGaming site
- The UI should be more elegant and aesthetic so that it the player should hav
  trust on the platform where is going to deposit
- No Guidance how to do the deposit
- The Submit CTA is not Visible in that very peppy and colorful interface

For the solution, I chose to keep the UI neat added some small elements and features
- Made the Overall look and feel in white, that build trust
- Added New Feature of Whats App deposit, where the support will help the user
  to deposit or they will do it on behalf of the user
- Added 4 icons to build trust in the user minds in initial deposit process
- Added “How to Deposit” video i a pop up where the user can go and check
  the process of depositing
Experience 3— Gameplay
The game play section play a vital role in khiladi, as the main motive is to play games. So this section should be way to simple and informative as the even layman should understand and it should be intractable as well.
Problems I and audit team figure out which you can see front the above pages in terms of User experience

- Users may find it inconvenient to navigate through unwanted sports sections to access
   he desired sports section on a long-scroll In-play page
- Info button next to betting title displays verbose rule guide, including irrelevant details.        Time-consuming to understand and place bets.
- Live streaming has some audio and video lags. It also limits the ability to scroll the page     to view different betting options at the same time.
- “Match Me” toggle icon may confuse new users regarding its function, activation, and         result viewing without guidance.
- The event name is unreadable in Exposure Detail pop-up window due to the blue colour    in the purple background. Also it does not have the stake amount of different bets placed.

For the solution, I chose to keep the UI neat added some small elements which helped the get more information from the UI itself.

- Made the Overall look and feel in white, that build trust
- Added New instant deposit feature, which will be done via support team on behalf of the user
- Added Match bet toggle icon pop up, so it will help the user to get understanding about match me
- Made it less colorful UI, so that the overall designs should look more simple and aesthetic, to the point.
Usability Testing 🧪
Since this app re-design was big project, We tested the working prototype of wireframes with around more then 50 users to get a measurement of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction.

Since this app re-design was big project, We tested the working prototype of wireframes with around more then 50 users to get a measurement of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. We gave each user 5 tasks:

Task 1:
Register on the App./ Sign up

Task 2:
Deposit the desired amount

Task 3:
Play on Sports & Casino as these are the well played games as per target market, (India)

Task 4:
Withdraw the amount

Task 5:
Review all UI design pages thoroughly to ensure their clarity and understandability.

There was some changes as per the testing changes was been made and the things started coming on place.

Impact:
The complete redesign of the app resulted in a positive transformation in terms of aesthetics and professionalism, enhancing the overall look and feel. Improvements to certain UX pages and the addition of guidance elements significantly streamlined the user journey. The number of queries received by the support team decreased by 65%, allowing them to redirect their focus towards implementing and supporting new features such as Support Deposit and Sign-up support

Conclusion 😇
Khiladi is the one of the platform where everyone can come play games with real money and win online. But its experience is not up to the mark. Which defiantly frustrates the user.

By doing Changing the whole UI as per their brand colors and making small changes in UX we can provide users good experience.
