I tried eraser drawings with Advanced Art 1 this year.  We used powdered charcoal to create a ground and then went in with erasers and more charcoal to shade the objects.  Before beginning drawings with objects students brought in we did this small exercise using strips of paper students cut, folder, and taped to another piece of paper.  Students lit and photographed their arrangements before recreating them in charcoal.
