A fictional girl band that was inspired by my love for Rock n Roll, Bocchi the Rock, the fruity/ candy-liked color palletes and the relatable figures of young women in my age chasing their dreams.
The band's name was the misspelled "The Reference" as for the band's character design was originally a pose study and since themself, the characters, were not really the reference, they've become The Refrence.
The same story for that name could be taken from the Characters's perspective. How they formed their band, their music or their personal tastes for different things,... are the results of the inspirations that come before.
Works of Characters
Guitarist/ Vocalist - Hồng
A sweet, gentle figure but a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her guitar technique. She takes it serious with her music. Happening to be the best singer in the group as well.
Bassist - Đào
A fun, dynamic, childlike sprited member of the band. Though she’s good with people, the girl’s got some quiet moments of her own, which could also be considered a parallel to her choice of instrument, the bass.
Drummer - Dương
The care-free and daring, charming figure of the band, who is also the one with the most life experience. Her drum kit is her way of manifesting.
Keyboardist - Hoàng
The typical “whinny, spoiled-bratty” figure when you first met her. She was well-trained for piano as her parents wished for her to be a part of a world-classed ochestra. She happened to find love for rock n roll along the way and had been working hard since. Eventually, she found her way into the profession with keyboards.
