Fabricated Nonsense - BFA Thesis Exhibition at Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art
"A vessel is defined by the negative space in and around it, as the skin of ceramic itself. This skin is a sort of negotiation between inside and outside, between solid and fluid and where they intersect."
- Daintry Natasha
In Fabricated Nonsense, I investigate the dichotomy between two identities of "there" and "here", and deconstruct this structure in order to reconstruct a hybrid identity. Through the creation of the objects, I re-articulate my understanding of the idea of hybrid identity and home as a sense of identity. The vessels in Fabricated Nonsense reference to both functional and non-functional, craft and technology, and rational and irrational.
