The BoneCrowns

The "Bonecrowns" are an excerpt from a series of design objects working in different ways with bones and showing possible applications. Currently, animal bones are a waste material that is disposed after boiling. But the material is greatly underestimated. Just like skin and fur, each bone is handled individually. But the effort is worth it because they have many valuable properties like an exceptionally hardness or an interesting structure. Their different applications dictated by various forms can be used for different products. Possible applications for bones are fashion, jewelry and also development of everyday products. The “Bonecrowns” were part of the production "Everything you can think of is true" by Cora Stolper. They are the crowns of the red queens. The three headpieces are made of pig and cattle bones. The crowns deal with the symbolism of bone - power, pride and immortality.
My work is focused on the intensive handling of materials and their potential to create new perspectives, styles and applications in productdesign.
