My typeface... Vigne is created on the shoulders of Franklin Gothic ATF. I intended for the type to greatly contrast Franklin. Instead of Franklin's orderly, simplistic characters, I designed detailed, display characters. I was inspired by nature. I used leaf-like forms and contrasting stroke weight to emphasize the flamboyancy of nature... my typeface is peaceful yet expressive. I created Vigne atop Franklin Gothic ATF in Adobe Illustrator, then transferred it to glyphs mini to finalize the typeface and create my open type face file. Three physical characteristics to describe Vigne: ornate, transitional and serif. Three personality attributes to describe Vigne: nurturing, folksy and tranquil.
Vigne translates "vine" in french. I chose this name because it feels organic and engaging, as i intend for my typeface to be.
