Matte painting is one of my greatest passions and at the same time it has revealed to me one of my greatest fears. Since I decided to study and work for VFX industry, my passion has been enveloped by external frustrations, perfectionism and my own self-sabotage. It has been a journey full of insecurities and complexes. Since I worked for VFX my passion was put to sleep by the pressures of deliveries, making a matte for something that you are not passionate about and by frustrations and no empathy from others towards your feelings. That's why this year I chose it to be my comeback. I even forced myself to become a matte painting teacher so as not to let my passion die. It is important for me to share this because it is the first step of my journey. And if you feel the same as me, just go! Do it! Everything is for a reason.
