GYAT is a sports wear brand that values progressive growth over innate high-level functional ability. Coming from a bustling city of Jakarta, the brand was born from a desire to provide active sports enthusiasts that practice within the climate with refined athleisure wear that they could have on comfortably before, during, and after any exercise.
GYAT sees exercising as a vehicle and not an end in itself. By letting this serve as our guiding principle, we aim to capture the essence of sport to the ones who dedicate themselves to it: individual improvements. Time, performance, form, strength, power -- the aim to get better is the thing that drives people to push through. This idea is at the core of how we operate and is evident in our process of designing and crafting our products. With a clear focus on yielding better results, we give acknowledgements to the needs and wants of our users. Because we only exist in the space between them and the work.
This concept of improvement circles back to our etymology:
(1) Give Yourself A Try & (2) Get Your Act Together where the first emphasizes Yourself as the subject while the second emphasizes Your Act; but at the center of both is You. To improve is to win against yourself. And GYAT resides in the space between you and the work. We believe that there are two sides necessary and natural to experience to achieve this.
