Iceland 2023
In May 2023, I embarked on a two-week trip throughout Iceland with two friends. Given our shared passion for creativity, each of us brought along our own equipment to capture the beauty of Iceland. I had a compact analog point-and-shoot camera along with an Insta360 camera. My two friends brought a Sony A7 III accompanied by a variety of lenses, and, of course, a drone.
Although the footage sat on the shelf for quite some time, a few weeks ago, I finally decided to review it and attempt to piece together something meaningful. I stumbled upon videos that employed a collage-style animation, which I believed would complement the essence of what I aimed to create for this project.
Thus, I dedicated many hours to compiling and editing the footage, striving to create a video that encapsulates the essence of our experiences in that breathtaking country. While I possessed enough footage to produce an almost full-length feature film, I opted to keep the final product concise, mindful of the average viewer's attention span.
I sincerely hope that everyone who watches it enjoys the video and perhaps feels inspired to embark on their own incredible adventure to Iceland, as we did!
The song featured in the video is a traditional Viking folk tale dating back to the 9th century. It recounts the timeless story of a man journeying to visit his mother, encountering an elf along the way who lures and ultimately kills him.
