Project Background: On December 28, 2022, the internationally recognized digital drawing brand ugee officially announced its global brand renewal, introducing a fresh brand logo and brand IP characters
Concurrently, the dual IP characters— UU and GG—were launched to forge an emotional bond with a diverse and youthful audience, aiming to provide a more relaxed and enjoyable user experience
This brand renewal coincided with a shift in user scenarios from traditional professional digital drawing to a more youthful, mobile art-level drawing tablet environment.
Within this new market segment, we found two pivotal factors affecting the project: achieving a lighter device weight and managing the data cable effectively
After exploring various data cable management solutions and considering factors such as mass production feasibility and cable length, we opted for FORM 3
A minor tweak to the data cable's head resulted in a 10% reduction in overall size, bringing us closer to our goal of a lighter device
To better resonate with the brand's tonality, we made further refinements to the device's external contour
To facilitate a natural bending state of the cable and minimize actual bending damage during use, we adjusted the rounded corner radius to a more natural shape, which aligns more closely with the brand's visual tonality, showcasing smooth, natural, and casual colored lines
For a seamless user experience, we innovatively introduced the concept of organizing the unordered digital painting shortcuts into pairs
(Brush and Eraser)、(Canvas Zoom In and Out)、(Undo and Redo)
The weight of the device is a mere 249 grams.
With a 6mm thick data cable stored on the back, we managed to limit the device's thickness to 9mm
To achieve a slim and light body, we utilized the smallest sliding switch to maintain this design
The quality is reflected in the attention to detail
We adopted a new leather-like material for the electronic pen storage position
The anti-falling design, featuring evenly distributed semi-elliptical bumps on both sides, prevents the cable from detaching during movement
