March 8th is not a celebration
In Mexico, 10 femicides occur daily. This is a country where the majority of women have been exposed to some form of violence throughout our lives. That's why on March 8th, International Women's Day, we neither celebrate nor want anyone to congratulate us; because receiving flowers for a day serves no purpose when all of us have to fight to live free of violence on every other day.
