'A TURNING POINT'
'A Turning Point' was developed towards an exhibition titled 'In the eyes of others'. The piece sets out to explore the delicate balance between familiarity and predictability as I consider how to further my work without losing what defines it as uniquely mine. The illustration sets out to inspire reflection on the necessity of departing from the familiar visual lexicon - potentially risking the audience's disconnect - in favour of cultivating new, engaging works that allow the advancement of one’s practice, whilst remaining traceable to the artist in question. The work can therefore be considered a slow exit from the familiar towards the next phase.
