In the first project for Product Based Experiments, we selected different existing lights and redesigned them in a multitude of different ways.

 

I chose a child's bouncy elastic toy that flashed when the user interacted with it. I chose to keep this sense of playful interaction and discovery, redesigning the light to be an elegant table lamp for a Wellington contemporary home.

 

Evoking the idea of wind, sails and the sea, three key elements of Wellington, the user turns on the light by pulling on the sails' string and mooring it to the base.
