Livin' on a Prayer Calendar Cover

This is a cover for one month in an 18-month calendar created by my ART 456 class, inspired by the captivating findings of Dr. Jacob Jolij, as revealed in the groundbreaking article (https://www.inc.com/jessica-stillman/music-happiness-neuroscience.html). I have designed an illustration inspired by the song “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi from Dr. Jolij’s study.

I was inspired by the feelings of hope, determination, and resilience I heard in the song. The lyrics tell the story of a working-class couple who are facing tough times but are determined to persevere and make their relationship work. I took inspiration from the feel-good beat and out-pouring love they had for each other and painted the background in acrylic paint. I wanted the texture and colors to stand out to show this journey the couple was on. On ProCreate I drew two people dancing and holding hands, at the center of all the chaos. I wanted the lyrics and my vision to resonate with the audience and the emotions they felt.

Currently, this project is in production to become a physical calendar.
