When people think about Amsterdam, they usually think canal houses, windmills and tulip fields nearby. While I have seen them in my daily life here a fair bit, I usually shy away from bringing my camera out when there are ten other tourists with massive lenses and full frame bodies around me.
I got an old barely functioning Nikon film camera from a vintage sale a couple of years ago. I found that being small in size, it usually fits in my jacket pocket when I am going out on walks, when I do not want to take my actual camera. I got a few different rolls of film and started carrying it everywhere with me. Its nice to have something handy for memorable shots, other than your phone. I also took it on a hike at 6 am, through some dunes by the sea.

There are no people in these photos, which capture the essence of the empty North.
Shot on Kodak Portra 400 and Tri-X 400 using Nikon AF Zoom.
