The Beehive Salon & Spa

The Beehive Salon & Spa
The Beehive wanted an identity that portrayed a fun relaxing environment with a feminine appeal. They aimed to have a visual look and feel influenced by a melding of their affinity for the band The B52s and late 50s Hollywood style.

To accomplish this, the logo borrows the literal interpretation of the beehive hairstyle and pairs it with the elegant silhouette of a woman’s face formed from the negative space.

The curved lines of the simplistic mark mimic the angled swooping letterforms of the logotype as they come together to give the logo motion and cohesiveness. The dark maroon of the mark and subtitle make a distinct contrast between the vibrantly bright orange Beehive title. This, along with the modern san serif subtitle and thick scripted shapes of the title act to balance the old with the new and sophistication with playfulness.

Together these parts combine to enable The Beehive logo to accomplish its intended goal of femininity and unique style.
