Giallo Ristorante – Visual Identity
Welcome to Giallo, a pizza and pasta restaurant located in Queensland, Australia that offers the Sicilian experience through its cuisine: hearty pizzas, savoury pastas, and well-crafted desserts. Made with Amore/Love, embark on a gastronomic adventure that marries traditional Sicilian cuisine with modern culinary methods.
The design revolves around the harmony of “old meets new.” I created a contemporary visual system using elements that are nostalgic and familiar to its roots, Sicily. (e.g. lemons, olives, Sicilian plates, the sun). The result is a brand that pays homage to its heritage manifested through contemporary design. The brand speaks through the use of a bespoke logotype inspired from block letterings found across vintage Italian typography.
The mascot is a playful nod to the Sicilian puppet. Drawn with carrying either pizza, pasta, dolce (dessert), or takeaway box on one hand and another carrying an armour with the Trinacria–the symbol of Sicily.
