Incubator House

My final course included a complex planning subject and I elected to pursue the theme of an incubator building. In my minds eye I could visualise a building on the Saint Istvan University campus in Godollo, designed to help newly graduated students to create their first micro-enterprises. There would be a social space offering offices of different sizes to let - or even just a desk for rent  - with all working areas enjoying common access to the building infrastructure, plus additional rooms offering different functions and equipment, e.g. meeting rooms, workshops, etc. To encourage tenants to interact with each other I imagined a central space providing easy access to all services and other occupants. Natural illumination of the building was important for me, therefore I placed a glass curtain-wall behind a ceramic screening structure.
