Migrating to Microsoft 365
A journey from JRC-designed collaborative intranet to Microsoft services
From 2016 to end of 2023, the European Commission used as an internal communication channel a special tool designed and developed by the Joint Research Centre: Connected, a hybrid between an intranet and a social network.
In 2022, the Commission decided to phase out Connected in favour of Microsoft services.
I was involved in the JRC internal communication process to accompany staff in the migration of their content from Connected to SharePoint Online, Teams and Viva Engage.
I provided the JRC internal communication team with a little analysis of thoughts and feels our staff had shared on Connected under the announcement of its dismission.
Imagining how our communication could feel and look like to respond to staff needs, I set up a visual identity and some suggestions on how to display messages along the process.
