Context
Ecosphere is a VR nature documentary, using Oculus headset as a medium. One of the greatest aspects of the still VR space is the opportunity to truly explore the world's most beautiful places in immersive fashion and in the comfortable of your sofa.
Ecosphere is a mix of 3d interactive space and a series of short 180 films explaining the importance of bio-diversity and sustainment.
To explain the aspect of VR, Ecosphere is a shell application, it requires player download each video before visit Kanya, Borneo or Misool.

My job in the project was base on the UX concept, develop the platform idea - a 3D space that would anchor the user, and also be the source of the content.
Misool interactive miniature sphere
Ecosphere has been a successful VR application, with it demonstrates VR can be a powerful storytelling tool, travelling educational program for kid, or just simple an enjoyable space travel with family.
The primary challenge I addressed in this project was seamlessly integrating interactive platforms with 180-degree videos. Creating game content for the Oculus headset demanded extensive effort due to constraints in graphics and the size of 3D assets. To overcome these limitations, I employed various techniques, including texturing with Quixel Mixer and lighting baking using 3dsMax Vray, and hand-painting texture for animated shader.
"Ecosphere" marked my first venture in Virtual Reality. Through this project, I gained valuable insights into the entire VR production process, spanning from conceptualization and asset creation to optimization, integration, and quality assurance process.
