Malin Kundang Folktale

Introduction
Malin Kundang is a folktale that came from the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Malin Kundang folktale tells a story about retribution on faithless son to his mother. Here is the story, enjoy!
Scene 1
Once upon a time, in a remote village there lived a boy named Malin Kundang with his mother. Malin's mother, by herself must make their family stay living by working everyday, replace Malin's father who never come back home after wandering to the other lands.
Scene 2
Feeling sorry for his mother who always worked hard to make their family stay living, Malin decide to go wander in order to become a success and rich person one day, so that he can return and help his mother later.
Scene 3
With tenacity and persistence in work, Malin Kundang finally managed to become a successful and rich person. He has his own house and a lot of ships. After that, he proposed a beautiful girl from where he worked to be his wife.
Scene 4
After marriage, Malin Kundang and his wife set sail to his hometown. Malin’s mother who see his arrival go to the dock directly and hug him. But seeing a woman dressed in shabby and dirty hug him, Malin become angry and refuse to admit her mother because of shy.
Scene 5
Received such treatment from her son, Malin’s mother feel hurt and dissapointed. She did not expect her son turn into a faithless person. After a short while, Malin’s mother pray and shouted to the sky, “God, if he is true my son Malin, I CURSE HIM TO BE ROCK!”
Ending Scene
After that, Malin Kundang's body slowly becomes rigid and turns into a rock. Thus far, the stone of Malin Kundang still can be seen at Air Manis beach, West Sumatra, Indonesia.
