For this project, we lived among the Lembak, a unique people of about 200,000 residing in Sumatra, Indonesia. We learned their language, their culture, and loved their families. We studied their customs, photographed their lives, and videoed their events. We translated and created simple reading materials, interviewed many people, and created social media platforms specific for the Lembak. We posted this work and have continued to use this site as a bridge between worlds, a glimpse into the life of these people, and as a means to educate/ promote the Lembak culture and language.
