Coldframe hanggung

< Coldframe > refers to a small hotbed-like frame to protect seedlings from the cold when the seasons change.

This also becomes a message that runs through Cafe Coldframe Haenggung.

콜드프레임은 계절이 바뀌는시기, 모종을 추위로부터 보호하기 위한 작은 온상과 같은 틀을 의미한다.
이는 카페 콜드프레임 행궁을 관통하는 메세지가 되기도 한다.

By applying 'Brtalism', one of the architectural trends, as a spatial language, we tried to convey a clearer sense through contrast. The space is based on black wood, which can encompass both coolness and warmth. The wall that first catches your eye as soon as you enter the door has been sanded without any processing, exposing the rough surface of the concrete.

공간 언어로 건축 사조의 하나인 '브르탈리즘'을 적용해 대비를 통한 더 극명한 감각을 전하고자 했다.
공간은 차가움과 따듯함을 모두 아우를 수 있는 검은 목재를 베이스로 한다.

출입문으로 들어오자마자 처음 시선이 닿는 벽에는 별다른 가공 없이 샌딩을 통해 콘크리트의 거친면을 그대로 드러냈다

Christmas in August was chosen by the client as his favorite movie. The sense of contrast conveyed in the paradoxical title linking summer and winter. I felt the direction pursued by the client and the space through the main character, who appears indifferent on the outside but is full of warmth on the inside. Based on the client's tastes, we proposed a space that resembles the message of the movie.

클라이언트가 가장 좋아하는 영화로 꼽았던 8월의 크리스마스. 여름과 겨울을 잇는 역설적인 제목에서 전해지는 대비감.

겉보기엔 무심해 보이지만, 그 속은 온정으로 가득한 주인공의 면면에서 클라이언트와 공간이 추구하는 방향성을 느꼈다.
클라이언트의 취향을 발판 삼아 영화의 메세지와 닮은 공간을 제안했다.

Exposed concrete, large mass furniture, monotonous colors of black and white.

The space appears cold on the outside, but plants placed here and there add warmth, creating a warm greenhouse atmosphere.

노출 콘크리트, 굵직한 매스감의가구, 흑과 백의 단조로운 색감. 공간은 겉보기엔 차갑지만,

곳곳에 놓인 식물이 온화함을 더하면서 따스한 온실의 분위기를 자아낸다

The stainless steel polished partition plays a functional role in separating the movement lines leading to the bathroom.

At the same time, the material was selected to reflect the main wall so that the brand message can be conveyed to consumers sitting on the opposite side.

스테인리스 폴리싱 파티션은 화장실로 가는 동선의 분리의 기능적인 역할을 한다.

동시에 메인 월을 반사시켜 반대쪽에 앉는 소비자에게도 브랜드 메세지가 전해질 수 있도록 소재를 선정했다.

Concrete, which reveals its true form without any decoration, looks somewhat rough and cold when seen from the outside,

but it gives off an unknown warmth and comfort.

Plants were hung on wall shelves to make the contrast between the unique warmth and vitality of plants and the cold concrete more apparent.

그 어떤 장식없이 본연의 모습을 드러내는 콘크리트는 겉에서 봤을 때 다소 투박하고 차가운 느낌이지만, 어딘가 모를 따뜻함과 편안함이 느껴진다.

식물이 지닌 특유의 온기와 생명력과 차가운 콘크리트의 대비가 더 극명하게 보이게 하고자 벽면 선반에 식물을 걸었다.

All furniture is inspired by brutalism-based architecture and has a form with a sense of massive mass.

The long bench and large table in the center of the space were colored white, which contrasts with the black that is the base of the space, to add a comfortable and gentle feel.

모든 가구는 브루탈리즘 기반의 건축물에서 영감받아 굵직한 매스감이 느껴지는 형태를띤다.
공간 중앙에 자리한 긴 벤치, 안족 대형테이블에는 공간 베이스인 검정과 대비되는 백색을 사용해 편안하고 온화한 감각을 더했다.

For the large table and counter, the lattice frame often used in greenhouses was used in the form of the top, giving unity to the structural form.

대형테이블과 카운터에 온실에서 자주 사용되는 격자 프레임을 상판 형태에 차용해,구조적 형태의 통일성을 부여했다.

This is a place where the vitality of plants seeps into a space like a black-and-white photo, crossing the line between coldness and warmth.I hope that it will be a space that lasts for a long time without becoming dull or fading over time, like the still-loved movie <Christmas in August>,

which calmly depicts ordinary daily life without any unusual events or special developments.

흑백 사진 같은 공간에 식물의 생명력이 스며들어 차가움과 따뜻함을 넘나드는 이곳.
유난한 사건이나 특별한 전개 없이도, 평범한 일상을 담담하게 그려내 여전히 사랑받는 영화 <8월의 크리스마스>처럼 시간이 지나면서 고루해지거나 퇴색하지 않고, 오래도록 지속하는 공간이 되기를 바란다
