Unlock Prosperity with a Golden Touch
This project started as a concept to explore 4D typography with a Lunar New Year theme. I decided to create the backdrop and its elements with a papercraft feel to make it look more like a Lunar New Year greeting card.
The introduction concept starts with the door being unlocked by the symbol (禄) meaning wealth and prosperity as an allegory to bring good fortune through the door. Some of the patterns were created to look like flower patterns and dragon scales to give the overall look more festive.
The idea of the lock is mechanical version of the chinese ancient lock. Originally design was more towards clouds but it didnt work out in parts. The tubing and metal rectangles tubes were added to give the lock more contraption.
