Geometric 2014 Seasonal Calendar

Spring 2014 / Typography II / Adobe InDesign

An assignment for my Typography II class where we had to design a seasonal calendar around a particular theme. My theme was geometric shapes and I related the meaning of a shape to each season. For example, a circle symbolizes renewal and unity. Spring is when the seasons restart and it is the time of when things begin to grow again.
A square is a symbol of the marterial world. It represents summer because it is the season of full potential.
Triangles are the symbol of direction and chagne. It represents autumn because it is the season of change.
Winter is represented by a dodekagram because it has twelve sides, symbolizing the twelve months in a year, and the annual cycel restarting.
