Goblin Circus

BRIEF
El grupo Goblin Circus publicó su primer álbum en formato vinilo y necesitaba un desarrollo gráfico acorde a su estilo musical: rock psicodélico. El diseño debía representar tanto a nivel conceptual como gráfico la temática del álbum.
PROPUESTA
El objetivo de este proyecto era consolidar la identidad del grupo y causar el mismo impacto que su música. Se optó por representar los hechos descritos en sus canciones, cada una de ellas más surrealista que la anterior. Escenas como: una fiesta de goblins en lo más profundo de una grieta (los goblins son seres fantásticos de piel verde, caracterizados por su actitud rebelde y caótica), peces sedosos deslizándose por el cielo o árboles bailando dentro de un vaso de leche... todo esto converge y se entremezcla, creando así un universo completo en torno al concepto “Goblin Circus”, que da nombre al grupo y al álbum.
Se realizaron ilustraciones hechas a mano, las cuales se digitalizaron posteriormente para preservar la irregularidad del trazo. Además, se utilizó una paleta de color reducida a nueve tonos. En el interior del álbum se incluyen letras de las canciones (también fueron escritas a mano y digitalizadas) y fotografías del grupo durante las sesiones de grabación.

BRIEF
The Goblin Circus group released their inaugural album on vinyl and sought a graphic design that resonated with their psychedelic rock style. The design needed to encapsulate the album's theme both conceptually and visually.
PROPOSAL
This project aimed to solidify the group's identity and evoke the same impact as their music. The decision was made to illustrate the surreal events described in their songs, each one more fantastical than the last. Scenes included a goblin party deep within a crevice (goblins, fantastical creatures with rebellious and chaotic attitudes, characterized by their green skin), silky fishes gracefully sliding through the sky, or trees dancing inside a glass of milk. All these elements converged and intermingled, creating a comprehensive universe around the "Goblin Circus" concept, the namesake of both the group and the album.
Hand-drawn illustrations were crafted and later digitized to preserve the strokes' irregularity. Additionally, a limited nine-tone color palette was employed. The album's interior features handwritten and digitized song lyrics, accompanied by photographs of the group taken during recording sessions.
