INZAMAM ZINE
INZAMAM ZINE is a 16 pages zine about names, Khushbakht (my full name) and Khushi (my nickname) representative of my two identities.
'Inzamam' itself means 'to merge' or 'to unite', hence depicting how the two names unitedly make my one personality, while one hidden behind the other, making the other (that which aligns with 'Khushbakht') more apparent.
Each color (pink and blue) represents Khushbakht and Khushi, respectively. As Khushi is hidden behind Khushbakht, The color pink is more apparent than the color blue.
This zine follows a narrative based on names working as compasses in my life. The narrative ends with the hidden identity which I resonate more with (Khushi, representative by the color blue) being revealed and embraced.
The title illustration is an abstract, an amalgamation of the two names.
The following represent different illustrations I worked on for this zine. The ropes in one of illustrations represents 'Khushi', that is being resisted, but regardless succeeds in pulling me apart and letting the guards fall.
