KI KAISER
CREATIVE PORTFOLIO
I chose to major in graphic design because creativity has always been my preferred outlet for self-expression. Growing up, I often felt like I didn't quite fit in anywhere until I discovered fashion. In the fashion world, being edgy or different is not only accepted but encouraged. As for my academic aspirations, my primary goal is to graduate. I've never thrived in a traditional classroom setting, spending my middle school and high school years trying to conform to that mold. However, I've come to realize that I don't need to force myself into a role that doesn't suit me. Regarding my career aspirations, while I don't necessarily envision myself as a full-time graphic designer, I dream of becoming a creative director for a fashion house such as Mugler, Diesel, Annakiki, or Rick Owens. Despite their differences, what these companies share is a commitment to their unique creative vision, unswayed by trends or popular opinion. they don't cater to the masses; they resonate deeply with their niche audience. Coming from a background in ocean rescue, I find the greatest satisfaction in helping others.
The fashion industry is notoriously competitive and cutthroat. To set myself apart, I aspire to be a creative director who not only produces incredible work but also inspires others. So, if I'm given the opportunity to lead, I want my team to see my name at the top of the call sheet and feel comfort, knowing that today is going to be amazing and everyone will be well cared for. If I can achieve that, I'll consider myself successful.
SUMMITT
Designs by Ki Kaiser
NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti
Completed 12-10-23
Introducing Summitt, a collection born from my passion for the ocean and techno beats. Created as part of my Fashion Design 1 coursework, this collection brings together two important parts of my life. I aimed to blend elements from both worlds into wearable pieces that hold personal meaning and reflect my creativity.

Filmed + Edited by Ki Kaiser
Completed 2/2/24
Throughout my time with Empulse, a San Diego-based surf brand, there was a strategic aim to integrate additional skateboarding clips into their social media content. Given their frequent utilization of film photography, I proposed a dual-layered technique to emulate the aesthetic of a "double exposure" in traditional film photography. (1080 x 1350p)

This project symbolized a significant milestone in my creative journey. It epitomized a long-held aspiration—to curate an editorial that authentically captured my distinctive style and visionary outlook. I had articulated this ambition to both professors and seasoned peers, who graciously offered their support and insights during the shoot. The subsequent acclaim, particularly from these esteemed mentors and colleagues, imbued me with a heightened sense of possibility in realizing my ambition of assuming a role as a creative director. It elevated my aspirations from mere dreams to tangible career prospects. (8.5 x 11)
This editorial is slated for publication in METAL magazine in June 2024.

Shot by Hugo Erickson
Completed 9/29/23
During Milan Fashion Week, I was commissioned by designer Alessio Bruno. My task involved overseeing the e-commerce aspect of the project, but with a unique twist. While the designer requested a white backdrop, the aim was to ensure that the personalities of the models shone through, adding depth and vibrancy to the e-commerce images. (4:5)
