KFC Finger Kickin' Good

We generally carry our mobiles everywhere —to navigate, find things, capture moments, play games and so much more. 
We saw this as an opportunity to link this behaviour with KFC (and their sponsorship of Super Rugby). A great way to drive awareness, brand love and a unique user experience all in one. The campaign allowed Kiwis to kick it like the pros, (with the pros)… but by using their fingers. So, ‘Finger Kickin’ Good’ was born – an obvious play on the famous brand slogan ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’.

The ‘Finger Kickin’ Good’ mobile game allowed fans and newcomers to bring Super Rugby into their hands while playing anywhere and everywhere. All they needed to do was take a photo of their surroundings, shift the goalposts and then kick the ball over with their finger. Fans got creative with their pics and kicks and were rewarded with epic weekly prizes. Plus all goals went into the draw to be in to win the grand prize of $30,000. Goals were placed over heads, legs, rooms, food, the harbour bridge, mountains, the sky tower, rivers, offices, pets, co-workers, and lounge rooms… 

A simple yet addictive game that involved everyone who loves KFC, the Super Rugby, or simply playing on their mobile phone.

78,759 users 
Over 52 Million metres kicked
Converting 863,179 goals
11,131 hours of gameplay
Winning 124,599 instant KFC prizes!

The campaign was driven by interaction with the game through the huge volumes of user generated content nationwide. 
Making Super Rugby and KFC moments happen everywhere, and helping to build a surrounding social campaign within the Super Rugby season.

The KFC ball was literally kicked the length of the globe, by Kiwis all across the country, 
converting KFC fans into Super Rugby aficionados.
