Early Layout/Theme Concepts
For this project, created a resource to help players better understand the factions in the world of Sliver - a TTRPG (Table-Top Role Playing Game) world/setting I have been personally developing for some time. I created and printed 20 pages of content for 5 factions, a cover, map, and introduction.
My goal was to emphasize the theme of the setting I have established for myself as a game designer - a retrofuturist magitech world. In simpler terms, Imagine star wars or blade runner, but with magic powering all technology. The world is gritty, mystical, and divided.
To aid in putting this tone first, I created futuristic borders for my content, used fonts that emulate a retrofuturist style, and stark colors, including lots of black to emphasize the divide. Both the cover and map use a Alien inspired computer design, to show the retro sci-fi feel, but with more "fantasy" style font to show that blend.
