This is the animation intro for our group of monkeys organizing parties and such based in Bologna, Italy.
Monkeylab isn't just a group of animals, it's a lifestyle full of fur and sounds!
We've always been a group of friends since the start of the evolution, I guess, but the name has popped up around 2011.
For now we live on trees so everything is going on perfect... we lost our opposable thumbs but we... uhmm

Compositing Process

The basic animation was done in Cinema 4d.
Then I've created some lumas, cleaned some passes in AE and after that I've traced everything in Photoshop with some custom brushes and some external plugins adding also some levels of stains, random brushes, vignette and pencil animation.
The final composition was post-processed in AE.
The audio was created in Ableton with some free samples from freesound.org, native instruments and effects.
