Twin Table Partition
Class: Proyectos III: Diseño y ser humano (December 2023).
The project was designed with fellow students: Fernanda Lozada & Juan Pablo Ramírez Vera.

Brief: Sabha is a collection from MillerKnoll, which mainly focuses on modularity and the flexibility of using furniture according to the user's needs. The main idea behind the collection is collaboration. For this project, we need to intervene in the collection to complement it both in function and aesthetic. The design process was based on extensive research to find a need or problem. Subsequently, sketches, mockups, and renders will be developed until the final product.

Sabha Collaborative Seating
According to Herman Miller's concept Living Office: "The most effective workplaces are designed for people and the complex ways in which they work as groups and individuals".

Something we found lacking in Sabha, was a private space for individual work. Therefore, we decided to design a movable space divider that allows the user to have private spaces without permanently altering Sabha and its basic principle of collaboration.

We also thought of adding a "middle table" since there are coffee tables and tables for stand-up work, but nothing in between those two.
After some sketching, we liked the idea of using the shape of the coffee table to tie in the tables with the squareness of the couches.

Just the shape itself didn't give us enough space to have a divider and table, so we decided to merge the shape but make it distinguishable by color-blocking it.
