Elizabeth Homewood  // Honours Student 2024

As a designer, I aim to embrace many different styles and mediums in the hopes of creating a range of meaningful works. In my early years of studying, I consistently struggled to find an artistic style that suited me, but have since learned to not limit myself to one. Now, I aim to delve into many styles and techniques in order to create consistently interesting and fitting outcomes for the projects I tackle.

All my work in 4th year has a common thread that connects each project – the future. The future of our planet has been an ever-evolving theme in my work and this year I aimed to drive it home, hoping to inspire people to reflect on the urgency of our situation and to ponder what our future may look like.

Despite such a sombre topic, I like to explore my ideas in fun and enjoyable ways, drawing inspiration from my own personal interests such as fiction and film as a way of expressing who I am and where my curiosities lie. Ultimately, I strive for connection and unity, and hope to spark a thought of pensive reflection within my practice, while still creating something that looks cool!
