In the quietude of a forest, a philosophical question resonates: "If a tree falls and no one is around, does it make a sound?" Yet beneath the ocean's waves, bioluminescence offers us a definitive answer. This spectacular glow, shimmering for eons, does not require witnesses to affirm its magnificent existence. Creatures adorned with their own light dance in a silent spectacle of vivid colors, orchestrated by the vital need to perpetuate, seduce, and communicate.
“Tide of Light: A Bioluminescent Journey” is a tribute to this innate light, a celebration of the art that nature has sculpted into the fabric of marine life, long before human eyes marveled at it. The installation invites visitors to immerse in an enchanting simulation, where each step triggers a poetic luminosity. Here, science meets contemplation, and technology meets poetry, allowing us to glimpse a beauty that occurs independently of our presence, yet expands with our participation.
In this ode to the majestic and the enduring, the interactivity of “Tide of Light” reflects the delicate interaction between humanity and the oceans, between knowledge and feeling. By drawing attention to the subtlety and strength of natural cycles, the work invites reflection on our role in preserving these cycles. Thus, while the installation celebrates the splendor of bioluminescence that has flourished for millions of years without our observation, it also inspires us to ensure that such splendor continues to shine in the depths, for future generations to discover and revere.

The "Ocean Decade - I National Crypto Art Exhibition" runs from November 30, 2023, to February 26, 2024, at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, Rio de Janeiro (@ccbbrj).
The theme of the exhibition aligns with the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in support of the oceans. Thus, it promotes reflections on the contemporary world and the future on an ecosystemic, interdependent, hyperconnected, and highly technological planet, yet with significant challenges of coexistence and sustainability.

“Maré de Luz: Um Passeio Bioluminescente” é uma instalação de arte interativa que busca capturar a beleza misteriosa e efêmera do fenômeno natural da bioluminescência, manifestado pelo plâncton nos oceanos. A obra foi exibida na Década dos Oceanos - I Mostra Nacional de Criptoarte, no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro.
Em meio à quietude de uma floresta, o questionamento filosófico ressoa: “Se uma árvore cair e ninguém estiver por perto, ela fará som?” Mas abaixo das ondulações do oceano, a bioluminescência nos oferece uma resposta categórica. Este brilho espetacular, cintilante há eons, não necessita de testemunhas para confirmar sua magnífica existência. Criaturas adornadas com sua própria luz, dançam em um espetáculo silencioso de cores vivas, orquestrado pela necessidade vital de perpetuar-se, seduzir e dialogar.
“Maré de Luz: Um Passeio Bioluminescente” é uma homenagem a essa luz inata, uma celebração da arte que a natureza esculpiu no tecido da vida marinha, muito antes de olhos humanos se maravilharem com ela. A instalação convida os visitantes a imergir em uma simulação encantadora, onde cada passo desencadeia uma luminosidade poética. Aqui, a ciência se encontra com a contemplação, e a tecnologia com a poesia, permitindo-nos vislumbrar uma beleza que ocorre independentemente da nossa presença, mas que se expande com a nossa participação.
Nessa ode ao majestoso e ao perene, a interatividade da “Maré de Luz” reflete a delicada interação entre a humanidade e os oceanos, entre o saber e o sentir. A temática da mostra se alinha com a iniciativa da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) para Educação, Ciência e Cultura (Unesco) em favor dos oceanos. Deste modo, promove reflexões sobre o mundo contemporâneo e o futuro em um planeta ecossistêmico, interdependente, hiperconectado e altamente tecnológico, porém com grandes desafios de coexistência e sustentabilidade.
