The Shelter, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro

The shelter project was conceived with a focus on bioclimatic considerations, taking into account the characteristics of the location. The region, marked by a hot and humid climate, requires solutions to ensure the comfort of users and promote a better quality of life.
The shelter's roof extends beyond the limits of the walls, avoiding direct sunlight on the building and providing a balcony for social interaction. The structure is elevated to prevent ground moisture and allow air circulation. Windows in the central circle and accordion doors facilitate cross ventilation, ensuring the entry of fresh air and efficient removal of hot air. For the materials, lightweight and insulating materials were selected, considering not only the climatic conditions but also the proximity to the sea, avoiding materials susceptible to corrosion from salt air.
In summary, the project emerges as an example of how architecture can be shaped by bioclimatic nuances. Conscious choices of materials, architectural solutions, as well as sustainability, converge to a result that not only meets the practical needs of the shelter but also promotes the fundamental idea of adaptive and ecologically conscious architecture.
